Inspired by first hearing the recordings of Benny Goodman at the age of 12 in his hometown of Kitchener, ON, Scott Poll has been fascinated with jazz clarinet and music of the Swing Era ever since. In 1990, Scott joined the Canadian Forces Central Band in Ottawa, and has since been showcased as a featured clarinet soloist performing swing classics in numerous concerts throughout Canada, Europe and the U.S.A.
With his own band, the "Pollcats", paying tribute to clarinet legends Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Pete Foundtain, he has been part of the Ottawa music scene for over 10 years. Scott has performed with jazz legends Gene di Novi, Peter Appleyard, guitar great Jeff Healey, and others. He has been a guest performer at the Birdland Jazz Club in Tokyo, Japan, a featured soloist in Bangkok, Thailand at a Royal Command Performance for Princess Sirindhorn.
